Po Chung

Chung Po Yang, (Alias Po Chung) co-founder and chairman emeritus of DHL, was born in Macau in 1943. Recently retiring from his successful career in the business world, Po Chung is now a professional artist. In December 2001, inspiration struck for a groundbreaking technique that would determine his future artistic direction. The results - impressionistic landscapes which combine traditional Chinese ink work with wonderfully free Western brush strokes in vivid colours - are now plain for all to see.  
 
"The colour should be composed of bold, Western Impressionist strokes; but then the Chinese ink should be applied to the back of the rice paper, so that it would seep through to the front", decided Po Chung. In this way, Po Chung initiated a new painting method, a combination of Chinese technique and materials with Western strokes and colouring.
