SzeTo Lap, born in Guangzhou in 1949. He worked in Hong Kong since 1972 and resided in Paris in 1975.
Since 1993, he has been the Editorial Executive Member of the "Twenty-First Century" Bimonthly, Institute of Chinese Studies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2001, he was employed as the professor of the China Academy of Fine Arts, tutor of its PhDs and the Academic Committee Officer of its Art Phenomenology Research Centre. In 2002, he was employed as the guest professor of Shanghai Normal University.
In 1982, his works were exhibited at the "IN SITU" exhibition, National Museum of Modern Art, Georges Pompidou Centre.
In 1983, "Drawings of Figurative Expressionists" exhibition was held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Georges Pompidou Centre.
In 1989, "Sur le Vif" group exhibition was held at the Beaucaire Museum in France.
In 2000, "Breeze of Stillness" Retrospective exhibition, co-organized with the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong, was held at the University Museum and Art Gallery, the University of Hong Kong.
From 1992-2001, he gave lectures at the China Academy of Fine Arts and Xi An Academy of Fine Arts once a year.
